Practice Expectations

General Expectations

  • I expect that you will be at practice every day unless you have spoken with me ahead of time.
  • I expect that all of my athletes will come to practice ready to give 100% effort. We are only as good as the effort we put in.
  • No chewing gum
  • No talking in the boats
  • You must come wearing appropriate clothing. In spring this includes long sleeves and pants.
  • Be prepared to go outside, even during winter training. I will try to let you know ahead of time as well.
  • Respect yourself, respect your teammates, respect your coach.

Indoor Training

  • 3:30-3:40 Pack bags and leave them by your locker. Your backpacks MUST be packed before practice.
  • 3:40-3:45-Warm up on the ergs
  • 3:45-5:30 Practice
  • 5:30-Change and go to LS Lobby

On water

  • 3:30-3:40 Pack bags and change.Be changed and down at water by 3:45
  • 3:40-RUN to the water.
  • 3:45-3:55 -- Short warm up on land-wrestler (5)
  • 3:55-Set launches
  • 4:00-Hands on boats, on the water
  • 3 minutes to get boat on dock and push off
  • Tie in on the water
  • Warm up on water
  • Practice
  • 5:15-return to land
  • Put boat, cox box, tools, oars, launch stuff away
  • Stretch
  • 5:25 Run up to School

It's not necessarily the amount of time you spend at practice that counts; it's what you put into the practice.
